Jun 6 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue an operating permit to Carbide (manufactures calcium carbide), 4400 Bells Lane, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This action is being issued to renew the operating permit. The 30-day public comment period starts on June 8, 2019 and ends on July 8, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

May 31 2019 Free electric fans for seniors and disabled individuals on June 8

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, community organizations, and residents, hundreds of electric fans have been collected to provide heat relief for seniors and people with disabilities.  A "Fan Fair" giveaway and resource event is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Edison Center, 701 W.
