Louisville Metro Office of Resilience and Community Services (RCS) is offering pre-registration for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), Subsidy Component. The pre-registration will begin on Wednesday, October 2, and end on Thursday, October 31.

Sep 23 2019 Free services offered to local homeless population on Oct. 2

Louisville’s homeless population will have an opportunity to access services, information and assistance in a one-stop environment at the 2019 Project Homeless Connect/VA Stand Down, on Wed., Oct. 2. Resources available at the event will include food, clothing, medical evaluations, help with employment, education and benefit services, State ID’s, and many other forms of assistance. 

Aug 30 2019 Neighborhood Place partners hosts four hiring events, two health care outreaches and much more in September

Each month, Neighborhood Place partners provide numerous events and resources to benefit the entire family.  Activities in September include four hiring events conducted by FedEx, Sodexo, the U.S. Census Bureau, and Kentucky Health Care Center; two outreaches by Humana CareSource and Passport to discuss health plan benefits options; and a free educational series for parents and caregivers who have youth with a mental health diagnosis.

Jul 11 2019 Neighborhood Place partners host eight back to school events

Neighborhood Place and numerous community partners will offer eight back to school events in late July and early August 2019.  These events will provide free school supplies while supplies last as well as a wide range of services and resources to help local youth and families be better prepared for the start of school year.

May 31 2019 Free electric fans for seniors and disabled individuals on June 8

Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, community organizations, and residents, hundreds of electric fans have been collected to provide heat relief for seniors and people with disabilities.  A "Fan Fair" giveaway and resource event is scheduled for Saturday, June 8 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Edison Center, 701 W. Ormsby Ave., Louisville, KY 40203.

Apr 29 2019 Women’s empowerment series stresses building support, healthy relationships

Women of all ages are invited to a free, eight-week series focusing on educating and empowering women by building knowledge and skills in multiple areas.  Starting Monday, May 6, 2019, the “Women’s Empowerment Group” will feature practical tips on weekly topics including relationships, parenting, mental and physical health, education, employment, and finances.

Heating assistance program offers relief to qualified low-income residents

 Income-eligible residents of Louisville now have more time to apply for funding to help with energy bills, thanks to an extension of the deadline for the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP).

Louisville families with children of all ages are invited to a free resource fair showcasing summer activities for children, youth, and families on Sat., March 23.  Themed “SOAR” which stands for Summer Opportunities and Resource Fair, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DuValle Education Center gym, 3610 Bohne Ave.
