Mayor Greg Fischer today announced the historic, long vacant warehouse located at 1405 W. Broadway has been acquired by the Housing Partnership Inc. (HPI) to be redeveloped into a $34 million mixed-use development.

Mayor Greg Fischer together with Fund for the Arts, the Imagine Greater Louisville 2020 Steering Committee and Louisville Visual Art today announced a transformational two-week mural festival set to launch in fall of 2019. Louisville Metro Government today announced the process to apply for the External Agency Fund for FY20 (July 1, 2019 - June 30, 2020). Brightside will hold its fall planting event Saturday, November 10 along West Broadway. Volunteers will join Brightside, who has partnered with the Division of Community Forestry and corporate sponsors to plant approximately 115 trees on West Broadway between 22nd and 37th streets.

Mayor Fischer announced today that Develop Louisville’s Office of Advanced Planning has issued a Request For Proposal for the creation of a new Smoketown neighborhood plan. This neighborhood plan is expected to be complete by the end 2019 and is an update to the current Smoketown/Shelby Park Neighborhood Plan, which was adopted in 2002.

Oct 25 2018 American Airlines announces new nonstop service to Los Angeles International Airport
American Airlines today announced new daily nonstop service between Louisville International Airport (SDF) and Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) beginning Tuesday, April 2, 2019. The airline will operate the flight using a 128-seat Airbus 319 aircraft with WiFi and in-seat power. The daily flight is scheduled to depart SDF at 7:24 a.m. and arrive at LAX at 9:00 a.m. The nonstop return flight is scheduled to depart LAX at 10:55 p.m. and arrive at SDF at 6:02 a.m.
