Mayors Fischer and Gray announce BEAM region’s Global Trade and Investment Plan; receive $220,000 grant
Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer and Lexington Mayor Jim Gray today joined area business officials to announce the Bluegrass Economic Advancement Movement (BEAM) region’s Global Trade and Investment Plan.
The plan released today outlines key findings on foreign direct investment (FDI) in the region. It proposes strategies and accompanying action items to guide cultivation of future FDI, which fosters world-class industry clusters and high quality jobs. Key focus areas include:

DDW Opens New Natural Food Color Operation
DDW “The Color House” announces the opening of its second site in Louisville for manufacturing food ingredients. It is located next to the company’s global support center on Spring Street and near its caramel color operation on Payne Street. The new facility will produce specialty colorings for leading food and beverage companies. Greg Fischer, Mayor of Louisville, joined DDW associates and guests today in a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Mayor Fischer and Governor Beshear Celebrate Governor's Cup Award in Louisville
Mayor Fischer joined Gov. Beshear and community officials to celebrate Site Selection magazine naming Kentucky the top state for economic development projects per capita last year. The nationally acclaimed publication also recognizes Kentucky’s top metropolitan areas for their economic development successes, ranking Louisville ninth in the top tier category for population over 1 million.

Kentucky Leaders Applaud LIFT Being Named House Bill 1
Today, leaders across Kentucky met in the chambers of the Kentucky House of Representatives to announce that LIFT (Local Investments for Transformation) Kentucky has been named House Bill 1 for the upcoming 2015 General Assembly. Historically, legislation filed as House Bill 1 indicates the measure is the top priority for House members.
