With the support of several Metro Council members and officials at Waterfront Park, all of Louisville Metro will have the opportunity to celebrate an important moment in America’s history when slavery officially ended. The Juneteenth Jubilee Celebration, a seven-part weekly series, begins airing locally on traditional broadcast outlets and social media this Friday, June 19th in a new unique format to reach a wide audience.

Apr 1 2020 Councilwoman Parker self-quarantining following exposure to COVID-19 while serving as nurse at local hospital

Louisville, KY: Louisville Metro Councilwoman Marilyn Parker (District 18) is self-quarantining following exposure to COVID-19 as a result of her work as a part-time registered nurse (RN) at a local hospital. Parker is currently dealing with some symptoms that are associated with the virus, but has not yet been tested and will continue to self-quarantine until she is given clearance by her doctors and the hospital where she is working on the front lines to help fight this pandemic.

Louisville, KY – The Louisville Metro Council’s Minority Caucus will meet at 4 p.m. on the Thursday, January 9, 2020.  This meeting will be the first meeting of 2020 for the Minority Caucus and will include the election of Caucus Chair and Caucus Vice-Chair.

Nov 27 2019 Metro Council's Minority Caucus Meeting Cancelled

Louisville, KY: The Louisville Metro Council's Minority Caucus will not meet on Thursday, November 28, 2019 due to the Thanksgiving Holiday. The next regularly scheduled meetings will be held on Thursday, December 5, 2019 and Thursday, December 12, 2019 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 202 of City Hall (601 W. Jefferson Street). 

Oct 28 2019 Partnership to return some Library Services to Southeastern Jefferson County Planned for Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Louisville, KY – Metro Councilmembers, representatives from the Friends of the Fern Creek Library and the Fern Creek Chamber of Commerce will hold a press conference at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, October 29, 2019 to announce the start of efforts to bring back some library programs and services to Southeastern Jefferson County.

What: Announcement of new programs and services to support areas of Louisville that lost library services following the closure of the Fern Creek Library.

May 2 2019 Location and Meeting Changes for Minority Caucus

Louisville, KY: The Minority Caucus of the Louisville Metro Council announces the movement of their weekly meetings from Room 207 to Room 200 of City Hall (601 W. Jefferson Street). The Caucus will continue to meet in room 200 until the end of the Metro Budget Cycle (July 1, 2019).  

The Minority Caucus will not meet today, May 2, 2019, and will return to meeting weekly next Thursday, May 9, 2019 at our new location.

Mar 26 2019 Council Members to hold news conference concerning Insurance Rate Premium Tax vote and announced Administration Budget Cuts News Conference set for Tuesday, March 26th

Louisville – A bipartisan group of Louisville Metro Council members will hold a news conference on Tuesday, March 26th to discussion their recent vote on the proposed Insurance Premium Tax rate increase.

Members of the Metro Council plan to discuss the reasoning behind their vote as well as their thoughts on budget cuts already announced by the Fischer Administration.

Aug 11 2018 Nine New SpeedAlert Radar Devices to be unveiled

Representatives from the Louisville Metro Council’s Minority Caucus as well as Louisville Metro Police and Jefferson County Public Schools will participate in an event to demonstrate a new tool that has been purchased to help deter speeding and promote safety. A total of nine new SpeedAlert web-enabled radar display devices will be announced and demonstrated.
