Today the 26-member Louisville Metro Council sent a letter to Senator Mitch McConnell and Congressman John Yarmuth asking them to support additional federal funding for state and local governments.

Louisville – President David James (D- 6), Majority Caucus Chair Markus Winkler (D-17) and Minority Caucus Chair Kevin Kramer (R-11) will hold a news conference on Monday, April 13th to lay out how the Metro Council will continue to work to address legislation and improve public participation in the budget and legislative processes while continuing to adhere to safety recommendations in our effort to combat the COVI D19 virus.

Councilman Blackwell will host his first ever virtual Coffee with your Councilman event this Saturday, April 11th from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. This way, everyone can stay safe in their own homes while still staying connected.

The Louisville Metro Council Democrat Caucus will meet at its regularly scheduled time on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 4:00 p.m. In light of the pending states of emergency declared by federal, state and local Chief Executives due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the various directives and guidance issued in connection with those emergency declarations, the meeting will be held as a video teleconference pursuant to KRS 61.826.

Mar 15 2020 Association of Community Ministries puts out a call for volunteers and donations as Louisville Metro deals with COVID 19

It is a nonprofit organization whose purpose is to help those in need with food, or utility bills and housing. Right now, the Association of Community Ministries is facing one of its biggest challenges as Louisville Metro deals with COVID 19. On Sunday, the call went out for help to ensure the mission goes on. While basic precautions are being taken, there are still food deliveries which must be made to those in need and concerns COVID 19 may affect many who normally would not need assistance.

Oct 7 2019 Historic City Hall Clock Tower goes pink in October as a reminder for Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is usually a month associated with orange and black. However, the Louisville Metro Council is focusing its attention on pink to let everyone know it’s time to do something to fight a killer.        For the rest of the month of October, the Historic City Hall Clock Tower at Sixth and Jefferson Streets will glow pink as a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.
