Historic City Hall Clock Tower goes pink in October as a reminder for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is usually a month associated with orange and black. However, the Louisville Metro Council is focusing its attention on pink to let everyone know it’s time to do something to fight a killer. For the rest of the month of October, the Historic City Hall Clock Tower at Sixth and Jefferson Streets will glow pink as a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

It won’t be long before students in Metro Louisville will be heading back to class and three Metro Council members are partnering with five local gyms to help in the effort to get students started off on the right foot. Council members David Yates (D-25), Rick Blackwell (D-12), and Cindi Fowler (D-14) are joining with the gyms to support a friendly competition to collect backpacks and school supplies before the first day of the coming school year.

By a vote of 24 to 1, the Louisville Metro Council has approved the Fiscal Year 2019-2020 Operating Budget for Metro Government. In a unanimous vote, the Council has approved the 2019-2020 Fiscal Year Capital Budget for Metro Government.
