Councilmembers Announce 2017 FridayFest Schedule
Louisville, KY – Metro Councilmembers James Peden (District 23), Madonna Flood (District 24) and Vicki Aubrey-Welch (District (13) are sponsoring a free summer concert series at Highview Park for the sixth straight year based on the success of the former Music in the Metro. A different concert will be held every other Friday from June through August and the event is open to the public, family friendly, and free.

On Monday, March 20th, members of the Democratic Caucus held a news conference prior to the visit of President Donald Trump to the city. The members asked the President to take a step back and move slowly in repealing the ACA because of its impact on local health care and the city’s budget.

Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch is once again encouraging women to take the opportunity to be involved in a lifesaving process and at the same time learn more about living a healthier lifestyle. The District 13 Women’s Health Fair is set for Friday, March 10th and for women, it offers Mammograms to fight breast cancer and additional information about other important health issues.

Redevelopment of Colonial Gardens moves forward
Plans were filed today for a $5 million redevelopment of Colonial Gardens in south Louisville.
The adaptive reuse project includes renovating the 7,000-quare-foot historic Colonial Gardens building, as well as adding two new, one-story buildings that will share a common patio and garden area.
