Metro Council Offices to observe the New Year’s Holiday

Rental Registry for rental properties in Metro Louisville is now up and running online
A new Rental Registry for all rental property in Metro Louisville is now up and running online following the passage of an ordinance in September by the Louisville Metro Council. Effective March 1, 2017, all property located in Louisville Metro and occupied or offered for occupancy in exchange for money or any other consideration must be registered with Louisville Metro Government.

Metro Council approves $6.2 million in the Midyear Budget Adjustment spending to focus on violent crime and homicides
In a unanimous vote, the Louisville Metro Council on Thursday night approved $6.2 million in spending for a focused effort to combat violent crime in the city where the homicide rate has climbed to 119 in Metro Louisville for the current year.

Historic City Hall goes pink in October as a reminder for Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October is usually a month associated with orange and black. However, this weekend the city will focus its attention on the color pink to let every woman know it’s time to do something to fight a killer. Beginning October 1st, the Historic City Hall Clock Tower at Sixth and Jefferson will glow pink as a reminder that October is Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Metro Council approves rental registry ordinance for rental properties in Metro Louisville
By a vote of 17 to 4, the Louisville Metro Council on Thursday approved an ordinance which will create a rental registry of all rental properties in Metro Louisville. The goal of the ordinance is to be proactive in improving quality of life issues in Metro Louisville.

The Minimum Wage in Louisville Metro is $8.25 an Hour
On July 1st, the minimum wage in Louisville Metro jumped to $8.25, up fifty cents, as a result of action taken by the Metro Council to eventually raise the rate to $9.00 an hour by July 1st, 2017.
