            The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board will hold a public hearing on an Agreed Board Order with American Synthetic Rubber Company. ASRC is alleged to have violated District Regulation 5.01 (General Provisions) District Regulation 5.15 (Chemical Accident Prevention Provisions) and District Regulation 5.21 (Environmental Acceptability for Toxic Air Contaminants) at the facility located at 4500 Camp Ground Road in Jefferson County, Kentucky.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue an administrative revision for ownership change to the operating permit for DuPont Specialty Products USA, LLC (manufactures vinyl fluoride), 4250 Camp Ground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.16.  The 30-day public comment period starts on January 31, 2019, and ends on March 4, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 25 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise a construction permit for American Synthetic Rubber Company (synthetic rubber production), 4500 Camp Ground Road, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. The purpose of the revision is to clarify the following Strategic Toxic Air Reduction (STAR) requirements in the Plantwide STAR Requirements section of the construction permit: Specific Conditions S1.b.i.; S1.b.ii.; S3.c.i.; S3.d.i.; S3.d.ii.; S3.e.i.; S3.e.ii.; and S3.e.iii. The 30-day public comment period starts on January 27, 2019, and ends on February 26, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 22 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a FEDOOP operating permit for AI International (metal fabrication facility), 8055 National Turnpike, Louisville, KY 40214 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This is a standard FEDOOP renewal. The 30-day public comment period starts on January 23, 2019, and ends on February 22, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 4 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise a FEDOOP operating permit for NHK Spring Precision of America, Inc. (steel spring manufacturing), 10600 Freeport Drive, Louisville, Kentucky 40258 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This revision incorporates equipment from two construction permits and removes limits for greenhouse gas as they are not applicable to a synthetic minor source. The 30-day public comment period starts on January 5, 2019, and ends on February 4, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The 30-day public comment period starts December 29, 2018, and ends on January 28, 2019. Mayor Greg Fischer announced today that Louisville is joining cities across the globe by setting a goal of an 80 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Dec 17 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise an operating permit for Louisville Medical Center Steam Plant (steam production and distribution plant), 235 Abraham Flexner Way, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The District is reopening this permit for cause to clarify Boiler #4 heat input limit is when combusting coal. The 30-day public comment period starts December 20, 2018, and ends on January 21, 2019.  A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a FEDOOP operating permit for Atkemix Ten Incorporated (remediation, RCRA facility), 6100 Camp Ground Road, Louisville, Kentucky, 40216 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This is a standard FEDOOP renewal. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 18, 2018, and ends on January 18, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 13 2018 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a renewed operating permit to Ford Motor Company – Kentucky Truck Plant (manufacture of automobiles, light- and medium-duty trucks), 3001 Chamberlain Lane, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This action is being taken to allow for notification of the public to add requirements that were inadvertently left out of the previously drafted operating permit. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 15, 2018, and ends on January 14, 2019. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control Board will hold a public hearing on an Agreed Board Order with Clariant Corporation. Clariant is alleged to have violated District Regulation 2.16 (Title V Operating Permits) at the facility located at 1227 S. 12th Street in Jefferson County, Kentucky.
