Louisville Resilience Launches New Phase and Discovery Area Teams
Louisville Metro Government’s Office of Resilience and Community Services is inviting the public to participate in a meeting to kick off Phase II of the Louisville Resilience initiative on Monday, Sept. 10.
The meeting will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Louisville Free Public Library’s Main Branch, 301 York Street, and will include the Louisville Resilience team, business leaders, educators, non-profit organizations, members of the faith community, and residents.

Neighborhood Place Partners Hosts Eight Back to School Events
Neighborhood Place and numerous community partners will offer eight back to school events in late July and early August 2018. These events will provide free school supplies while supplies last as well as a wide range of services and resources to help local youth and families be better prepared for the start of school year.

Free electric fans for seniors and disabled individuals
Thanks to the generosity of local businesses, community organizations, and residents, hundreds of electric fans have been collected to provide heat relief for seniors and people with disabilities. A "Fan Fair" giveaway and resource event is scheduled for Saturday, June 16 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. at the Edison Center, 701 W. Ormsby Ave., Louisville, KY 40203.

Free tax preparation for residents filing past due returns
Although the 2017 tax filing season has ended, there is still free help available in preparing past due and amended tax returns. Now through October, the Louisville Asset Building Coalition’s Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program, or VITA, will provide federal and state income tax assistance to income eligible residents who need help filing prior returns. It is also still possible to receive a refund for returns from the years 2015 to 2017 for those who qualify.

Bridges of Hope Neighborhood Place joins with several community partners to host a day-long forum focused on the rippling effects of addiction on Saturday, May 12. Entitled "Addiction 101: The Ripple Effect of Heroin and Other Drugs”, the event will be held at Dismas Charities at St. Ann’s Center, 1515 Algonquin Pkwy., from 12 – 4 p.m.
