Louisvillians hoping to find a fresh start, help with finances, or a new career direction will find a wealth of opportunities at the “Be Empowered at the Nia” event on Thursday, May 9. The event will be held at the Nia Center, 2900 W. Broadway, from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Mar 13 2019 Summer Resource Fair for Youth on March 23

Louisville families with children of all ages are invited to a free resource fair showcasing summer activities for children, youth, and families on Sat., March 23.  Themed “SOAR” which stands for Summer Opportunities and Resource Fair, the event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DuValle Education Center gym, 3610 Bohne Ave.

Mar 12 2019 Mayor says SummerWorks ‘crucial’ to nurturing youth, developing city’s talent pipeline

Summer jobs are critical to developing the community’s youth and building a stronger local economy, Mayor Greg Fischer said today in launching the SummerWorks jobs program for 2019.

The program partners with companies and non-profits to provide good summer employment for young people age 16-21.

Jan 14 2019 Realigned Dixie/Broadway/18TH crossing opened

Mayor Greg Fischer today opened the newly realigned intersection of Eighteenth Street, Dixie Highway and Broadway to traffic. The realignment eliminated a traffic bottleneck where the three streets converge at a major West End development site.

Sep 25 2018 Free Services Offered to Local Homeless Population Oct. 3

 Louisville’s homeless population will have an opportunity to access services, information and assistance in a one-stop environment at the 2018 Project Homeless Connect/VA Stand Down, on Wed., Oct. 3. Resources available at the event will include food, clothing, medical evaluations, help with employment, education and benefit services, State ID’s, and many other forms of assistance.
