The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a FEDOOP operating permit to PolyOne Corporation (batch specialty chemical company), 4250 Bells Lane, Louisville, Kentucky 40211, in accordance with Regulation 2.17. The 30-day public comment period starts on February 10, 2018, and ends on March 12, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Feb 6 2018 Proposed Title V Construction Permit 358-08-C (R1): Zeon Chemicals L.P.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise a construction permit for Zeon Chemicals L.P. (synthetic rubber manufacturing plant), 4100 Bells Lane, in accordance with Regulation 2.03. The construction project is to add an alternative operating scenario that allows the source to bypass the control device while spray-drying nitrile butadiene rubber (NBR) on the No. 2 spray dryer. The 30-day public comment period starts February 08, 2018, and ends on March 12, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 31 2018 Solid Waste Study Released

Following a two-year study that included multiple public meetings, a survey of residents and outreach to the Jefferson County League of Cities and private waste hauling businesses, a consulting report that assesses Louisville’s current solid waste management system has been finalized.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a operating permit for Reynolds Consumer Products LLC (commercial aluminum foil production), 2827 Hale Avenue, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. This is a standard permit renewal. The 30-day public comment period starts January 27, 2018, and ends on February 26, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07

Jan 23 2018 Proposed Title V Operating Permit: Allnex USA, Inc.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to revise an operating permit for Allnex USA, Inc. (synthetic resins manufacturing), 4730 Crittenden Drive, in accordance with Regulation 2.16.  The revision is to incorporate a name/ownership change from Nuplex Resins, LLC to Allnex USA, Inc.  The 30-day public comment period starts January 25, 2018, and ends on February 26, 2018.  A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue a FEDOOP operating permit to Anderson Hardwood Pallets, LLC. (coating operation of wood furniture), 3138 Del Park Terrace, Louisville, Kentucky, 40211, in accordance with Regulation 2.17. The 30-day public comment period starts on January 24, 2018, and ends on February 23, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 19 2018 APCD Notice of Action on Title V Operating Permit 27759-14-TV(R2): Clariant Corporation

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to issue an operating permit to Clariant Corporation - Louisville South Plant (catalyst manufacturing plant), 4900 Crittenden Drive, in accordance with Regulation 2.16. The 30-day public comment period starts on January 21, 2018 and ends on February 21, 2018. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Jan 17 2018 Yard waste collection suspended

Yard waste collection in the Urban Services District of Louisville Metro (the former City of Louisville boundaries) is now on seasonal shutdown. Regular collection on yard waste routes is suspended until March 12.

Seasonal suspension of yard waste collection was done on a two-week trial basis in 2017 and found to be successful. Because of that success, yard waste collection will go on seasonal shutdown annually from January 1 until the middle of March.

Jan 12 2018 Waste collection delayed for King holiday week

There will be no garbage, junk, recycling or yard waste collection on Monday, January 15 within the Urban Services District (former Louisville city limits) in observance of the Martin Luther King, Jr. Day holiday.

Collection will resume Tuesday, January 16 and will be delayed by one day for the rest of the week. (Example: residents that have a Monday pickup will have collection on Tuesday.)

Dec 21 2017 Christmas tree disposal

Metro Public Works will provide curbside pickup of Christmas Trees within the Urban Services District (the old City of Louisville boundaries) after the holiday. Beginning Tuesday, December 26, residents with City curbside yard waste pickup may set their Christmas trees and greenery out on their regular collection day. Trees must not be in plastic bags, and all decorations must be removed.

Don’t throw away that old television, computers or other electronic device that’s you just replaced. Let Metro Public Works recycle those newly obsolete devices instead.

Free post-holiday electronics drop-off service is available at our Waste Reduction Center at 636 Meriwether Avenue. Drop-off will be available from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on these three Saturdays: January 6, January 13 and January 20.
