About Parks Alliance of Louisville
The Parks Alliance of Louisville drives equitable investment in our public parks to elevate the wellbeing of the entire community. Formerly the Louisville Parks Foundation, the nonprofit was formed to support public parks not funded by other local nonprofits. In 2013, the Louisville Jack O’Lantern Spectacular opened in Iroquois Park, with proceeds benefiting our public parks. Since then, the Alliance has completed major projects in California, Lannan, and Russell Lee parks, installed five turf soccer fields in three public parks, Beechmont, William Harrison, and Wyandotte, and built the first “Skate Spot” in the Midwest at Breslin Park. In 2019, in partnership with the same production team, Winter Woods Spectacular launched, to critical acclaim.  Proceeds from this event also benefit our public parks. In 2021, the Alliance expanded its work further, launching a city-wide initiative to ensure the parks and neighborhoods with the greatest need receive the earliest investment.
