Several proposed redistricting maps altered in response to public input
New boundaries for seven districts will be added as an amendment to the redistricting ordinance
Louisville – The Metro Council Ad Hoc Committee on Redistricting is proposing changes to the boundaries of seven districts in order to reflect recent public comment.
The proposed maps were first revealed by the committee, chaired by Councilman Markus Winkler (D-17), on October 21. The committee immediately published the maps on the Metro Council website and opened an online public comment portal to encourage the community’s feedback. A special public comment session was also held in Council Chambers on October 27.
Based on the community input, the committee is amending the ordinance to make changes to the proposed maps for Districts 8, 10, 11, 15, 20, 21, and 25.
