Seniors Invited to Molo Village Resource Fair on July 7

June 28, 2016

Attendees encouraged to enroll in Senior Congregate Meal Program

An Open House and Senior Resource Fair is scheduled for Thursday, July 7, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Molo Village Senior Nutrition Site, 1407 W. Jefferson St.

Representatives from several organizations that provide assistance to seniors and caregivers will be on hand to share information on senior nutrition services, healthcare coverage, transportation and more. Senior Medicare Patrol, Louisville Metro Community Services’ Senior Nutrition Program, Senior Transportation Program and Office for Aging and Disabled Citizens will be among the featured vendors.  Free BINGO with prizes, senior exercises, light refreshments and free blood pressure checks will also be available at the event.

"This is a great opportunity for individuals to visit the Molo Village Senior Nutrition Site and see all the fun and resources they may be missing," commented Faith Aeilts, Program Manager with Community Services which administers the Senior Nutrition Program.  “People can come to participate in the activities or just to socialize. The choice is theirs."

Visitors 60 and over are also welcome to enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch, provided they call to make a reservation at least one day in advance.  To reserve a meal, call 502/744-0951.

Community Services opened the Molo Village Senior Nutrition Site last November and is working to expand participation.   The site offers social engagement and meal service Mondays through Thursdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., with meals being served at approximately 11:30 a.m.
