ReSurfaced Offers Children's Theatre, Opera, Music and More This Weekend
Sunday is Kentucky Opera Benefit Day
There’s something for everyone this week at ReSurfaced. The popular pop-up plaza on West Main Street kicks off the festivities on Thursday with Village Capitol Agriculture Happy Hour, an opportunity to meet a group of America’s most promising agricultural entrepreneurs. Starting at 8 p.m., Pecha Kucha is back with Volume 14: a presentation relating to the community activation ideas and actions revolving around ReSurfaced with the goal to activate and promote the creative reuse of under-appreciated spaces in our city.
An interactive theatre performance for children, presented by Walden Theatre, will take center stage on Saturday at 3:30 p.m.
Sunday is Kentucky Opera Benefit Day. One dollar from every craft beer sold will benefit the organization. Don’t miss their 6 p.m. program.
“An adventure is always waiting at the pop-up plaza,” Mayor Greg Fischer said. “Whether it’s your favorite local band, an out of town industry leader or your neighbor, this transformed vacant space has turned into a great networking plaza. The atmosphere with the unique lighting is a must see!”
ReSurfaced, located at 615 West Main, will operate until Oct. 25, Thursday-Sunday of each week.
