President James invites District 6 to the annual ‘Light Up California’ holiday celebration

November 30, 2021

The event on December 1 will include a free toy giveaway

Louisville – Metro Council President David James (D-6) is hosting an annual tradition to ‘Light Up California’ for the holidays.

President and Mrs. James are hoping this free toy giveaway will spread some cheer for the children and families in District 6. The community is invited to join the celebration on Wednesday, December 1, starting at 5:30 p.m.

“This is the 11th year that my wife and I have hosted this holiday celebration in the California Neighborhood. I’m grateful for my time spent with the California community and hope that our gifts bring a smile to a child this Christmas,” said President James.

The event will be held at the California Leisure Park Open Space, located at 1743 W. Kentucky Street.

“If it weren’t for our generous sponsors,” said James, “we wouldn’t be able to pull this off year after year. Thank You!”

The event is sponsored by: Todd Roman and Joseph Brown, First Urology, PSC, Craigh & Landreth Cars Inc., Coca-Cola, Ronald and Ruth Greenberg, Galt House, Scott Schoenberger, Kosair, Judge Gina Calvert, Craigh and Crystal Henderson, Nancy and Tom Woodcook, David Harold Rosenbaum, Henry and Ann Tripplet, NTC, and First Gethsemane Baptist Church.
