President David James invites everyone to come out and enjoy Victory Park Day this weekend
Louisville – President David James (D-6) is issuing an invitation to those living in and around the California Neighborhood where Victory Park is located, to come out and enjoy a day of fun, music and food as this neighborhood continues to build a great spirit of community.
This year’s Annual Victory Park Day is set for Saturday, August 3rd 3:00pm to 8:00pm.
“With the help of the people in this neighborhood, Victory Park has been reborn as a great place for families and people. This year, everyone will be able to see the recently dedicated playground and splash park as well as the improvements made to the lodge,” says James. “Most importantly, it is a time to come together to meet and talk with old friends and meet new ones. We want to show a community spirit and pride that helps everyone.”
This year’s celebration features free food, face painting, a childrens talent show, a kids basketball tournament and live music.
President James continues to work with neighborhood leaders, the Olmsted Conservancy and Metro Parks as the Victory Park neighborhood continues to build on the positive efforts which have helped to transform the park.
“There are many great benefits to being able to kick back, have some fun with the kids and just enjoy a nice Saturday with friends and family. That is what Victory Park Day is all about,” says James. “My thanks to the Olmsted Conservancy, Brown Foreman and Rumpke Waste and Recycling for joining me as sponsors of this great event.”
Victory Park is located at 1051 South 23rd Street.
