PARC Offers Free Parking for Dec. 3 "Coyote's Acoustic Concert"

November 26, 2014

One of the largest collections of country music singers will be performing at KFC Yum! Center on Wednesday, December 3, in honor of the retirement of 35-year 97.5 WAMZ host, Coyote Calhoun, and PARC wants to join the celebration by accepting donations in lieu of the $10 parking fee.

The Louisville Metro Parking Authority of River City (PARC) will provide free parking to patrons of PARC facilities in return for donated personal and entertainment items to be sent to  the 101st Airborne Division, “Screaming Eagles,” who are in Africa working to control the widespread epidemic of the Ebola virus.

“PARC is pleased and excited to participate in this opportunity to give, we are grateful for the service and sacrifice the armed services provide for our country and this is only a small token of our appreciation,” said Tiffany Smith, PARC Director.

Items for care packages to be sent to PARC’s adopted 101st Airborne unit. Donations will be accepted at any nearby PARC garage. Suggested items include: candy, magazines (hunting, fitness, etc.), beef jerky, music CD’s, DVD’s, chewing tobacco, protein bars, granola bars, mixed nuts and dried fruit, multi-vitamins, foot powder, Bengay, eye drops, Neosporin, homemade cookies, chewing gum, hot sauce, 5 hr. energy, etc….

The donation drive  is part of Mayor Greg Fischer’s Give a Day week of service, asking for residents to volunteer, donate and provide acts of compassion. Anyone wanting to get involved should visit where individuals or groups can volunteer for a growing list of projects and needs submitted by local non-profit agencies, churches and other groups.
