OMB Recieves National Award
Award cites excellence in developing city spending plan
Louisville Metro’s Office of Management & Budget (OMB) has received an award for the annual spending plan the office prepares for city government.
The Distinguished Budget Presentation Award comes from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).
“Led by Chief Financial Officer Steve Rowland, OMB has been resourceful and innovative in leading our city government through some very challenging budget years with the heavy impact of the national recession,” said Mayor Greg Fischer. “Their professionalism and this national recognition are further evidence that we are on the right track with our goal of building the best city government in America.”
“I am pleased that the GFOA recognized our team’s commitment to create a budget document that brings a greater degree of transparency to the process,” Rowland said. “Our goal is to produce a budget that informs our citizens on the financial position of city government.”
The Government Finance Officers Association is a nonprofit professional association servicing over 17,800 government finance professionals throughout North America.
