New episode of Mayor Greg Fischer Podcast focuses on sustainability
Mayor Greg Fischer today released a new episode of his podcast focused on the city’s sustainability efforts, days after the release of a city Greenhouse Gas Inventory.
“I’m pleased that sustainability and resilience are part of the everyday discussion here at Metro, and when we think about policy and when we talk with businesses and workforce,” Mayor Fischer said. “It’s integrated into everything we do in Metro Government, and I think that’s where it needs to be.”
In the episode, Mayor Fischer touted the value of sustainability in attracting and retaining employers and employees, citing programs such as Air Louisville, the cool roof rebate program, bike lanes and LouVelo bike sharing.
“We just want to make it easy for everybody to get involved,” the Mayor said.
The podcast episode also features an interview with Maria Koetter, the city’s Director of the Office for Sustainability.
Hosted by Mayor’s Office staff member Graham Shelby, the Mayor Greg Fischer Podcast launched in August as a way for the Mayor to engage in in-depth, longer discussions about key development and challenges in the city. New episodes are released about every other week.
Listeners can hear and subscribe to the Mayor’s Podcast through Apple Music, Google Play Music, Stitcher and other podcast apps.
