MUSCL Senior Wellness Center renamed in honor of the late Jim King
Louisville – On Friday, October 16th, the MUSCL Senior Wellness Center was renamed and officially dedicated in honor of the late Jim King who passed away in January of this year.
Councilman Steve Magre joined members of the King Family as part of the rededication which includes a colorful new sign for those who enter.
“Jim had a special love for the center and was a tireless supporter and this tribute is fitting to someone who understood the needs of our senior citizens,” said Magre.
The Kentuckiana Blues Society presented the Senior Center with a gift of $2,000 that was raised at the recent Blues Festival in Germantown.
The Jim King MUSCL Senior Wellness Center is open to anyone 55 or over and is free of charge. Seniors can learn computer skills, take an art class, work out in the fully-equipped fitness center, participate in handbells or chorale, bowl on the Wii, watch a movie, play cards, work a puzzle or simply enjoy a cup of coffee with friends.
MUSCL stands for Ministries United of South Central Louisville.
