Metro Council will interview District 1 applicants on Monday, March 14
Interviews will be held during a special meeting of Committee of the Whole
Louisville – Metro Council will hold a special Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, March 14, to interview eligible District 1 applicants.
The meeting, which is open to the public, will start at 4:00 p.m. in Chambers at Historic City Hall, 601 West Jefferson Street. Under KRS 61.826, some members will be video conferencing using WebEx.
Former Councilwoman Jessica Green (D-1) resigned on February 17. According to Metro Council Rules, the vacant seat must be filled within 30 days.
The Metro Council Clerk’s Office accepted applications from February 18-28, and then the Jefferson County Attorney’s Office reviewed those applications.
The following eligible applicants have been invited to be interviewed:
- Kathleen Parks
- Angela Bowens
- Kevin Wigginton
- Charlie Bell
- Arub Hasan
- Richard Whitlock Jr.
- Dustin Cox
- Victor Keye
- DuWayne Gant
- Derrick Robinson
Each candidate will have the option to attend the interview virtually or in person. Applicants will be interviewed in random order determined by a drawing. Each person will have three minutes for an introduction, then Council will have 10 minutes to ask questions, and finally there will be one minute for candidates to make final comments.

Metro Council will vote on the applicants and the new District 1 Council member will be sworn in during the Metro Council meeting on Thursday, March 17.
