Metro Council to begin review of District 10 applicants
Louisville – President David Tandy (D-4) has called a special meeting of the Metro Council’s Committee of the Whole for Monday, February 9th at 4:00pm to interview the 13 candidates vying for District 10 Council Member.
The meeting will take place in Council Chambers, on the third floor, Historic City Hall at 601 West Jefferson Street.
“The candidates will have an opportunity to present themselves to Council Members and explain why they would be the best choice for filling the vacant Council seat,” says Tandy. “The Council will have a chance to ask questions and learn more about the candidate’s goals for serving the district.”
Of the 14 applicants who applied, the Jefferson County Attorney’s office determined that 13 met the qualifications to hold the office.
The Council is moving forward with the process to ensure District 10 residents have their own representative at the earliest possible date.
President Tandy plans to call for a vote on filling the vacant seat during the February 12th regular Metro Council meeting.
