Mayor Fischer to deliver State of the City on Jan. 17 at Muhammad Ali Center
Mayor Greg Fischer today announced that he will deliver the 2019 State of the City address on Thursday, Jan. 17 at the Muhammad Ali Center in downtown Louisville.
The address is traditionally delivered to the Downtown Rotary Club at the start of the new year, in various locations. This year’s site was chosen in part to recognize and celebrate Ali’s birthday.
The Rotary luncheon will begin at 11:30 a.m. The address is free and open to the public, but registration is required. Those wishing to have lunch will be asked to pay $30. There also will be seating for those who wish to attend but not have lunch.
Attendees should register at

Last year, Mayor Fischer gave the State of the City at the South Central Regional Library in Okolona. In previous years, the event has been at the Baxter Community Center, the Southwest Regional Library, Churchill Downs and the African American Heritage Center.
