Light up Shawnee Brings New Holiday Event to West Louisville

Louisville – Come join us this Saturday December 7th, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the French Plaza located at 311 Amy Avenue for a huge community wide Christmas party!

This event will be filled with Christmas music from local choirs, DJ, a special visit from Santa on a LMFD fire truck, door prizes, food, games, crafts, and the lighting of the beautiful community Christmas tree!

“I am very excited to be a part of this festive occasion!  An event such as this touches the soul of the community and uplifts holiday spirits!” says Councilwoman Donna Purvis (D-5)

This grand holiday event is being sponsored by Councilwoman Purvis, the Shawnee Neighborhood Association, the Fuller Center, the Shawnee Ministries Community Collaborative and the Shawnee Christian Healthcare Center.

Residents from the Shawnee and Portland neighborhoods will be joining Mayor Greg Fischer, local and state officials, and churches from across the city for our Light Up Shawnee Christmas celebration.

5:30 Presentations from Mayor Fischer, Councilwoman Donna Purvis District 5, and state and local officials.

5:50 Lighting of the community Christmas Tree & caroling.

6:30 Door prizes and bicycles to be given away.
