Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch invites everyone to enjoy a great music weekend with the 11th Annual Forest Fest 2015
Louisville – The sound of Bluegrass Music will fill the air in the picturesque setting of the Jefferson Memorial Forest on Saturday, May 16th and Councilwoman Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13) is inviting everyone to come out to one of the most popular music events in the region: Forest Fest 2015.
“There is no better place than the Jefferson Memorial Forest to just kick back enjoy a nice spring afternoon while listening to some great music,” says Welch. “I have been a presenting sponsor of this event since 2006 and each year we hear great performing artists and those who have come out have the chance to experience the beauty of a very special place in Louisville Metro.”
Headlining this year’s Forest Fest 2015 is the Rumpke Mountain Boys of Cincinnati. This quartet combine signature vocals, a unique command of string instruments and dynamic special effects into a singular musical experience. An emotion filled musical stream of consciousness with no set list, minimal structure, and intuitive improvisational flow.
Also on the lineup for this year: The Misty Mountain String Band, Maiden Radio, Storefront Congregation, Louisville’s own Americana group Nellie Pearl and a new collaboration of award-winning bluegrass musicians called the Helen Highwater String Band.
