Councilwoman Shanklin to host the District 2 Christmas/Holiday Celebration
Louisville – Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D-2) is excited to announce the annual Christmas/Holiday Celebration and toy and bike give-a-way on Saturday, December 10, from 5:30 to 9 p.m. at Petersburg Park, located at 5008 E. Indian Trail (40218). The event will be held near the stage.
“Every child deserves some holiday cheer, and I’m happy to host this event which will provide free toys to needy children in District 2,” says Shanklin. “I love seeing kids’ faces light up with joy and excitement during this event.”
The event will feature free food (including grilled hot dogs, chips, cookies, and hot chocolate), toy and bike give-a-way (each child will receive a ticket to be entered in the random drawing for toys and 30 bikes), beautiful holiday lights in the park, and a special visit from President David James as Santa Claus.
This event is free and open to the public, so everyone is encouraged to attend. The toy and bike give-a-ways will be available to elementary and middle school kids. Not every child will receive a toy or bike, but there will be plenty of food for all attendees.
