Councilwoman Shanklin announces one-time afternoon period added for expanded health services at drive thru COVID 19 testing site in District 2
Louisville –Due to its popularity, Councilwoman Barbara Shanklin (D-2) announces a special, one-time afternoon session of health services will be available at the current drive thru COVID 19 testing site in District 2 this coming Monday, November 23rd.
“We continue to see strong participation in our drive thru site and last month we announced additional services for the people of District 2,” says Councilwoman Shanklin. “We know there are many people who work and can’t come in the morning. So now we will hold an afternoon session to accommodate as many people as we can.”
In partnership with the Kroger Company, the drive thru COVID 19 test site began offering flu, pneumonia, and shingles shots in October. This coming Monday, those new services will be offered between 2:00 p.m. and 5:00p.m.
COVID 19 testing for the area will still be offered from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00p.m. on Monday. The COVID 19 testing is operated by a medical team approved by Louisville Metro Government. The drive thru testing location is a partnership between Councilwoman Shanklin and the Newburg Church of Christ.
COVID 19 testing is available on the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month at 4700 East Indian Trail on the corner of Unseld Blvd. and East Indian Trail in the church’s parking lot.
“With COVID 19 cases increasing in Louisville, it is very important for everyone to take advantage of this testing,” says Councilwoman Shanklin. “I want to thank Kroger and all the partners who are helping our community stay safe and healthy during these difficult times.”
