Councilwoman Purvis encourages West Louisville residents to take advantage of drive-thru COVID 19 testing to be held for two weeks at Shawnee Park beginning April 27th
Louisville – Councilwoman Donna Purvis (D-5) is encouraging residents of West Louisville to take advantage of free drive in testing next week in Shawnee Park to get control of the COVID 19 virus.
The announcement came from Governor Andy Beshear on Wednesday to address more testing in African American communities, which are some of the hardest hit by the virus. It is part of the Commonwealth’s on-going partnership with Kroger Health to provide more access in various locations around the Kentucky.
“I welcome COVID-19 testing in District 5 at Shawnee Park. Gov Beshear, Mayor Fischer, Kroger and all other partners, “thank you” for realizing that testing is needed in the most vulnerable part of our community, lives will be saved because of this important testing,” said Purvis “I encourage the community to partake in this important endeavor.”
Testing will be available on Monday April 27th at Shawnee Park beginning at 8:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. Each site will have 1500 tests to be given over the next two weeks.
The Governor indicated that anyone who wanted a test could get one. The site will also give out mask and hand sanitizer to anyone who receives a test.
