Councilwoman McCraney to participate as panelist in African American Initiative Race and Politics Summit
Louisville- Councilwoman Paula McCraney (D-7) will be joined by Robert Blyth, Mayor of Richmond Kentucky, Kimberly Baird, Commonwealth Attorney, Angela C. Evans, Fayette County Attorney, and James Atkins, Mayor-Elect of Danville Kentucky as panelists in the African American Initiative (AAI) Race and Politics Summit today, November 21, 2022, in a virtual Facebook Live event from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m.
The summit aims to facilitate a discussion about race in politics and allow the audience to gain insight from Black candidates and leaders who have emerged successfully in predominately white voting blocs. Given our nation’s history of racism the panel will discuss some important questions; How did they do it? What did they learn? What can this tell us?
Panelists will also be joined by members of the AAI with Senator Gerald Neal as the AAI moderator.
The summit is hosted by the African American Initiative and co-hosted by Psi Boule of Sigma Pi Phi Fraternity, Inc., AARP of Kentucky, and in collaboration with WLOU Radio Simulcast.
To watch the summit live visit facebook.com/africanamericaninitiative or tune into the conversation on 104.7 WLOU FM or 1350 AM. A recording of the summit will also be posted after its conclusion on the AAI YouTube channel which can be accessed at www.youtube.com/channel/UCHOqfORivJ7Aj3P0qbrFPvQ.
