Councilwoman McCraney invites District 7 residents to the first “Muffins with McCraney” of 2020
Louisville – Councilwoman Paula McCraney invites District 7 residents to join her on February 8 for “Muffins with McCraney.” It is the community’s chance to get caught up on what’s going on at Metro Council and assist their Councilwoman with the completion of the District 7 strategic plan for 2020.
"‘Muffins with McCraney’ is one of the many ways in which I connect with my constituents and keep them informed of what’s happening in District 7 and at City Hall. I love the intimacy of meeting in a coffee house and casually discussing what’s important to them,” says the Councilwoman.
This first meet and greet event of 2020 takes place at Heine Brothers’ Coffee, 4901 Brownsboro Road between 9:30 am – 11:00 am.
Along with the conversation about the strategic plan, Councilwoman McCraney will discuss the upcoming budget and roll out plans for community tours. Community tours are sponsored by the Councilwoman and offered to all District 7 residents as a way to see different projects and points of interest outside of District 7. Tour proposals include a trip west of 9th street to visit the new YMCA, Kentucky African American Heritage Center, Louisville Urban League’s pending track/field complex and lunch at a minority-owned restaurant. Other tours may include the Louisville Water Tower, Waterfront Park and Botanical Gardens, MSD power plants, City Hall and Metro Hall, and possibly the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections.
“There are many things happening around Louisville Metro, and I think these tours will highlight the best our community offers and provide a perspective of our city that some District 7 residents may find interesting,” says Councilwoman McCraney.
There will be free Heine Brothers’ coffee and muffins for any District 7 resident who stops by; no appointment is necessary.
