Councilwoman Hamilton announces the return of the District 5 Friday Night Movies in the Park for the summer of 2015

Louisville –As a way to welcome summer, Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton announces the return of a great family event when the District 5 “Free Friday Night Movies in the Park” gets underway in District 5 on Friday, June 19th in Chickasaw Park.

“We have had great response over these many years when we have brought this fun and free event to several area neighborhoods in District 5,” says Hamilton. “This is a great way to enjoy a Friday night in the summer in the setting of our beautiful parks and best of all its free.”

“Annie”, the 2014 contemporary adaptation of the 1977 Broadway musical of the same name, tells the story of America’s favorite orphan who is looking for her parents and finds a new home and family along the way.

The film stars Quvenzhané Wallis, Jamie Foxx, Rose Byrne, Bobby Cannavale, and Cameron Diaz.

The Free Friday Night Movies in the Park will show the following lineup this year:

 “Annie” Chickasaw Park June 19th

“The Lego Movie” Boone Square Park July 17th

“Into the Woods” Shawnee Park/Bather Field August 7th

“Black and White” Shawnee Park/ Bather Field August 14th

“Selma” Shawnee Park/ Bather Field August 21st

“The Amazing Spiderman 2” Elliott Park September 11th

“Come out and join us, bring a lawn chair, picnic basket and insect repellent. It is a great opportunity to enjoy your friends and family to enjoy our Metro Parks,” says Hamilton.

The film begins at dusk in Chickasaw Park and will be located on the Parkway side of the Park. Details of other films through the summer will be announced.
