Councilwoman Hamilton announces next community meeting for the MSD Shawnee Park Basin Project
Louisville – Councilwoman Cheri Bryant Hamilton and MSD encourage residents of District 5 to come to the next community meeting with MSD officials for an update about the Southwestern Parkway Combined Sewer Overflow Storage Basin project to be located in Shawnee Park.
The Community Meeting is set for Thursday, November 12th at the Academy @ Shawnee, 4001 Herman Street.
“This meeting will give everyone an opportunity to see where the project is and how MSD will be moving forward,” says Hamilton. “This is also an opportunity for residents to ask questions about the project and its specific goals. This meeting will also give everyone a chance to voice any concerns they may have about the project.”
MSD officials say the $45 million project will greatly lessen the occurrence of combined sewer overflows, which is untreated sewage, into local waterways and will also reduce flooding in the Shawnee area during heavy rains
