Councilwoman George and volunteers begin streetlight assessment with “Lights on District 21”
Louisville – Councilwoman Nicole George and several community volunteers will begin a streetlight assessment for District 21 on Wednesday night, February 12th. The goal of the assessment will be to assess street lighting conditions, report outages, and raise awareness around the connection between lighting and safety.
“Volunteers will assess various areas of the district to get a better idea of which streetlights are working, cycling, or may be out,” says George. “We’ve been overwhelmed by community interested in helping.”
The “Lights on District 21” will begin at 7:00pm at the Beechmont Community Center, 205 West Wellington Avenue. Councilwoman George will talk briefly to the volunteers about the goals of the assessment and then volunteers will fan out throughout the district.
