Councilwoman Fowler to join volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels
Louisville – Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14) will volunteer time over the next few weeks, joining others as they deliver Meals on Wheel to the elderly as part of the national “March on Wheels” campaign.
“There are many home-bound residents who don’t always have access to quality meals and some just go without,” says Fowler. “I look forward to joining with my other colleagues on the Metro Council to bring awareness to the important issue of hunger and help address the needs of our elderly in this community.”
Councilwoman Fowler will join volunteers to deliver meals between 10:00am and 12:00pm on multiple days over the next two weeks. The effort is being coordinated through the Southwest Community Ministries.
Fowler joins Council members Vicki Aubrey Welch (D-13), Jessica green (D-1), Bill Hollander (D-9), David James (D-6), and Glen Stuckel (D-17) along with hundreds of volunteers who will deliver meals through the end of the month as part of the national “March on Wheels” Campaign.
Councilwoman Fowler encourages the community to be aware of this important issue and consider joining the call for volunteers as well.
“We all have elderly neighbors who might need our help,” says Fowler. “This is a great way to give back by donating a bit of your time to make sure someone doesn’t go hungry.”
