March 9, 2015

Louisville – As part of the Metro Council’s 2015 Black History Month, Councilwoman Madonna Flood (D-24) honored a very accomplished student from Southern High School, Monetinea Haggard.

“Monetinea is a model student at Southern High School with a 3.2 GPA and a 27 on his ACT.  He was a Captain of the Southern Football Team, a Who's Who Recipient, a Western Kentucky University Senior Honors Student, and a member of the Orchestr,” said Flood. “He is in the National Honor Society, Beta Club, and the advanced program.  Monetinea always gives back, volunteering at Southern in the concession stand and outside of school with NHS.”

Monetinea plans to attend college, focusing on academics, although he may decide to play football.

The Community Affairs Committee of the Council hosted the Black History Month program on Thursday, February 26th.
