Councilwoman Chappell hosts final Shakespeare in the Parks Tour on Sunday

May 23, 2024

Louisville (May 23, 2024) – Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell (D-15) has partnered with Kentucky Shakespeare to sponsor the final performance of A Midsummer Night’s Dream this weekend in Emerson Park.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is one of William Shakespeare’s most beloved comedies. Set in Athens in an enchanted forest, the play has multiple plotlines involving love, magic, and mischief.

This year marks the 11th season of the Kentucky Shakespeare in the Parks Tour. The shows are free, family-friendly, and don’t require reservations or tickets to attend. Each performance runs for 90-minutes with no intermission.

Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs, blankets, and bug spray since the performances are held outside. Seating is first-come, first-served.

The final performance is scheduled for Sunday, May 26, 2024, at 6:30 p.m. in Emerson Park, located at 1100 Sylvia Street.

"Shakespeare in our parks is always so magical, especially in idyllic Emerson Park! I hope you can make it out to the season closer of this wonderful production before it moves to Central Park for the summer,” said Councilwoman Chappell.
