May 08, 2024

Louisville (May 8, 2024) – Councilwoman Jennifer Chappell (D-15) invites the community to attend the MUSCL Senior Center Yard Sale, Schnitzelburg Walk, The Flea Off Market and Street Fest this Saturday, May 11, 2024.

Start your day off by supporting the Ministries United of South Central Louisville (MUSCL) Senior Center Yard Sale Fundraiser at St. Elizabeth Church Cafeteria and parking lot, located at 1016 E. Burnett Avenue. The yard sale opens at 8:00 a.m. and will run until 2:00 p.m. The sale will feature multi-family tables with treasures including clothing, shoes, accessories, blankets, kitchen items, houseware, toys, furniture, and more! All funds will support their mission to keep seniors in their homes with supporting stability, wellness, and community. For more information, please contact Karen at (502) 634-3221 or (502) 718-5430.

The Schnitzelburg Walk festivities kick off at 11:00 a.m. with The Flea Off Market, at Monnik Brewing, 1036 Burnett Avenue, where you can buy one-of-a-kind wares. In addition to over 100 local boutiques and craft makers, you can also enjoy food, crafty beers, and specialty cocktails. The market will close at 6:00 p.m.

After you shop, enjoy an evening as some of Schnitzelburg's infamous watering holes take to the street for a neighborhood block party! The event will take place along Hickory Street from Ash Street to Forrest Street. The walk will start at 4:00 p.m. and everyone will need to be off the street by midnight. Each bar will be hosting their own musical acts, food, and drink specials, so check with each bar to get the full scoop on what they're offering.

"This bi-annual event is one of my favorites because neighbors fill the street for a night of good times and great music. I look forward to bumping into folks throughout the day, whether at the Flea Off in the afternoon or dancing in the street at night," said Councilwoman Chappell.
