Councilmen Engel and Benson to Welcome Southpointe Commons Retail Lifestyle Center to Southeast Jefferson County
Metro Councilmen Robin Engel (District 22) and Stuart Benson (District 20) will welcome the Southpointe Commons Retail Lifestyle Center during a groundbreaking ceremony tomorrow morning at the site of the project.
“This groundbreaking event signifies remarkable economic development growth in District 22,” stated Councilman Robin Engel. “Once completed, Southpointe Commons will offer unique retail, dining and residential opportunities and generate nearly 600 jobs. Additionally, this private-public partnership will create much-needed infrastructure upgrades on Bardstown Road at the Gene Snyder Freeway and significant traffic reconfiguration in and around Bates Elementary.”– Metro Councilman Robin Engel, District 22
The project which has been in development for much of the past decade will result in more than $80 million in investment in the Southeastern portion of Louisville Metro by the Barrister Group.

The groundbreaking will occur at 10am tomorrow, March 28, 2017 at the future location of the Retail Lifestyle Center, 7301 Bardstown Road. The center will include over 360,000 SF of retail for the Fern Creek area.
