Councilman Reno-Weber to host Community Strategy meeting on Big Rock

April 11, 2024

Louisville (April 11, 2024) – As summertime quickly approaches, Councilman Ben Reno-Weber (D-8) is hosting a community strategy meeting to discuss solutions regarding the area around Big Rock.

The meeting will take place this Sunday, April 14, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, located at 1044 Alta Vista Road. Enter at the Barr Lane entrance, the meeting will be held in the Winn Center Building.

Last summer, neighbor’s expressed concerns for Big Rock including parking congestion, pedestrian and cyclist safety, and the impact of peacefulness in the neighborhood.

As a direct result of those concerns, Councilman Reno-Weber took immediate action to respond, working with Olmsted Parks, the Mayor’s Office, and other key stakeholders. This collaboration resulted in initiatives such as increased police presence and the introduction of informative maps and ambassador programs, to create a safer and more respectful environment.

Looking ahead to this summer, Councilman Reno-Weber is interested in hearing from those directly affected. How can the safety and enjoyment for everyone be improved? How can we strike a balance between different types of park users?

“Your input is invaluable. Whether you're a long-time resident or new to the district, your perspective matters. I encourage you to join me on April 14, not just to listen but to share. Let’s envision a summer at Big Rock —that reflects our collective commitment to safety, respect, and community,” said Councilman Reno-Weber.

This meeting is open to the public, but registration is requested for planning purposes. Please respond online here:
