Councilman Pat Mulvihill elected 2019 Majority Leader
Louisville – On Monday, members of the Democratic Caucus elected Councilman Pat Mulvihill (D-10) to serve as Majority Caucus Chair for 2019. The position also carries with it the title of President Pro Tem of the Metro Council. The Caucus elected Councilwoman Jessica Green (D-1) to serve as Vice-Chair.
“I want to thank the members of the Caucus for giving me this opportunity,” said Mulvihill. “I look forward to working with them and all Council members for the embetterment of our community.”
Mulvihill was elected to serve on the Metro Council in November 2015. He serves the people of Petersburg, Buechel, West Buechel, Bashford Manor, Watterson Park, Audubon Ridge, Camp Taylor, Fincastle, Nightingale, Audubon Park, Schnitzelburg, Parkway Village, Germantown-Paristown, George Rogers Clark Park, and Belmar.
In 2018 he served as Chair of the Metro Council's Public Works, Facilities, Transportation, and Accessibility Committee. He was also a member of the Planning, Zoning and Annexation Committee.
“I am so proud to have been elected as Vice-Chair of the Democratic Caucus today. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with Chair Mulvihill and the rest of my colleagues as we continue to move the city of Louisville forward,” said Councilwoman Green.
Councilwoman Green was first elected in November of 2014 and reelected in 2018. She represents the areas of Lake Dreamland, Cane Run Road, Campground Road, Bells Lane, south to Lower Hunters Trace, in South West Louisville. The district also covers Chickasaw, Russell, California, Park DuValle and Parkland neighborhoods.
In 2018, Councilwoman Green served as Chair of Metro Council’s Public Safety Committee and a member of the Government Oversight, Audit and Ethics Committee.
