Councilman James encourages residents to join Limerick Neighborhood for Brightside Cleanup
Louisville – When the Limerick Neighborhood decides to focus its attention on cleaning up its streets, there is no fooling around. This Saturday, volunteers will be ready in three different teams to pick up trash and garbage as part of the Brightside Fall Community Cleanup.
“Like many neighborhoods in Metro Louisville, the people who live in the Limerick Neighborhood take a great deal of pride in where they live,” said Councilman David James (D-6). “They are ready to get to work and make a difference this weekend.”
On Saturday, Volunteers are asked to meet at 931 S 6th St which is the entrance to the Limerick Community Garden. From there, the three teams will organize and fan out in the following areas:
- Team 1 - Limerick Community Garden & 900 Block of S 6th Street - Also, command post.
- Team 2 - Alley behind 900 Blocks of S 6th and 7th Streets bounded by Breckinridge St/North and Kentucky Street/South
- Team 3 - College Court - Litter along walkways and in stairwells. Clear debris from former basketball court(s). North side. Remove litter along the sidewalk in the 900 Block of S 7th St.
All volunteers will get a free Brightside T-shirt. Heine brothers Coffee will be available and there will be a pizza lunch at 12:00pm for those who help out.
‘So come out and meet your neighbors and spend a few hours given back to the community,” says James.
