Councilman Coan announces next Neighborhood Watch Workshop is set for Wednesday, August 23rd
Louisville – Neighborhoods that would like to keep their streets safe have a chance to learn how this coming Wednesday when Councilman Brandon Coan sponsors the next quarterly District 8 Neighborhood Watch Workshop on August 23rd.
Joining him as sponsors are Council Members Bill Hollander (D-9) and Barbara Sexton Smith (D-4).
This workshop is a focused effort to increase the number of Neighborhood Watch Programs in the district.
“We have had very good response and feedback from our fist workshop with the LMPD’s Fifth Division last May,” says Coan. “Based on the feedback we received from the first workshop, this session is designed to be more hands-on and action-oriented, in addition to informational.”
The workshop will be held at the Douglass Community Center Gymnasium beginning at 6:00pm. The Center is located at 2305 Douglass Boulevard.
“This is a great way to get connected and work together making our neighborhoods safer for everyone,” says Sexton Smith.
This workshop will focus on working with groups of neighbors to establish and register new watch clubs live and on-site.
“So, if anyone is interested in being part of a block watch to protect their home and family, bring yourself, friends and neighbors with you – it takes a village to prevent crime,” says Coan.
