Councilman Ackerson to Chair Public Safety Committee

Louisville (January 11, 2023) – Councilman Brent Ackerson (D-26) is proud to announce that he will transition from serving as chair of the Metro Council Government Oversight & Accountability Committee to serve as chair of the Metro Council Public Safety Committee. 

Ackerson has served as the chair of Government Oversight & Accountability Committee for the last five years.  During that time, he was proud to have taken an aggressive role in demanding more oversight and accountability from Metro Government’s Administration. 

Ackerson believes that Mayor Greenberg will be a more transparent and accountable mayor. Mayor Greenberg is committed to making Louisville Metro safer and Ackerson, as chair of the Public Safety Committee, is excited about the opportunity to work with the mayor to achieve that goal.
