Council members Owen and Hollander encourage residents to join Fifth Division LMPD officers for National Night Out
Louisville – With the back drop of the Peterson-Dumesnil House, residents of Council Districts 8 and 9 will have a chance to find out what’s going in the fight against crime on Tuesday, August 4th.
For a fourth year, the Fifth Division of Louisville Metro Police will host the 2015 National Night Out Celebration at this well-known landmark, located at 301 S. Peterson Avenue in Crescent Hill.
“As I have been meeting with various groups and residents throughout the district, crime and crime prevention are among the topics of discussion and concern,” says Councilman Bill Hollander (D-9). “National Night Out provides the chance for anyone to know what’s going on out in the streets.”
Hollander and Councilman Tom Owen (D-8) are encouraging the public to come out for National Night Out which will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm.
“The Fifth Division covers a wide area of our city and this event offers neighborhood groups and citizens the chance to come and do what they may not get the chance to do during the week: meet the men and women who enforce the law,” says Owen.
Joining Hollander and Owen as sponsors are Councilmen Brent Ackerson (D-26) and Steve Magre (D-10)
The event will offer crime prevention information, expired drug toss, child ID’s as well as information about block watch programs and how to keep you and your loved ones safe.
There will be free refreshments, food, music and door prizes.
