Council members McCraney and Winkler to host Virtual Budget Town Hall

March 10, 2021

Louisville – In preparation for the upcoming Fiscal Year 2021-2022 Capital and Operating Budgets, Councilwoman Paula McCraney (D-7) is partnering with Councilman Markus Winkler (D-17) to host a virtual budget town hall to discuss the budget process and hear from the public about their concerns and priorities for programs and projects.

“The mayor creates a budget each year to serve residents of Louisville, and the best way to do that is to hear directly from them,” said Councilwoman McCraney.  “This forum, along with information provided in the District 7 e-Newsletter, is my way of encouraging public participation in the development of goals and general prioritization of spending and revenue initiatives.”

“Setting the budget is one of the most important functions of Metro Council. Making sure that process reflects the priorities of our community is critical, and I hope our residents will join this Town Hall to ensure their opinions are heard,” said Councilman Winkler.

The virtual town hall is set for 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 13th.

Joining council members McCraney and Winkler will be Budget Committee Chair Bill Hollander (D-9), Chief Financial Officer Daniel Frockt, and Budget Director Aaron Jackson. That might be a way to eliminate some of the punctuation.
