Council members Fowler, Blackwell and Yates sponsor this year’s Brightside Fall Community Cleanup
Louisville – Once again, residents and businesses from Pleasure Ridge Park to Valley Station are invited to come out and help make the community a better and cleaner place to live by volunteering for this year’s Brightside Fall Community Cleanup.
“We always have a great turnout. Every year we see people and organizations come together and make a difference,” says Councilwoman Cindi Fowler (D-14). “Over the years, this event has grown into a gathering of people who are dedicated to keeping our community clean.”
Fowler along with Councilmen Rick Blackwell (D-12) and David Yates (D-25) are sponsoring this year’s cleanup which will begin at Sun Valley Park, 6505 Bethany Lane.
Sign-in begins at 8:30 am and then at 9:00 am volunteers and group swill fan out across the area to start the cleanup which lasts until 12:00pm.
“This is always a great community event and it is always nice to see so many people, families and groups come out, roll their sleeves up and get to work,” says Blackwell. “This shows great pride in our community and sense of accomplishment.”
“I would like to thank all the volunteers that sacrifice their Saturday morning to get dirty in order to make our community cleaner. It is inspiring to see how much we can accomplish when we all come together to better our city,” says Yates.
Bags and gloves will be provided to all participants. Groups from businesses, schools, churches, and other organizations are welcome to participate.
