Ceremony honoring former Louisville Alderman and former State Representative Reginald Meeks

Louisville – Councilwoman Angela Bowens (D-1) and Lean Into Louisville will honor former State Representative Reginald Meeks for his service to the Parkland Neighborhood, the Westend Community, the residents of Louisville Metro, and the citizens of the Commonwealth of Kentucky on December 2.

Meeks began his service as the 11th Ward Alderman for the City of Louisville from 1982 – 2000. Then was elected to represent District 42 for the Kentucky House of Representatives from 2001 – 2021.

The ceremony is scheduled for Friday, December 2, 2022, at the southeast corner of Virginia Avenue and 28th Street at Noon. An honorary street sign will be revealed designating a portion of Virginia Avenue as “Reginald Meeks Way.”

The public is invited to attend to share in the celebration for Representative Meeks. There will be a reception following the ceremony at the Dare to Care Community Kitchen, located at 1200 South 28th Street.
