From the renaming of Louisville Muhammad Ali International Airport to multi-million dollar investments at Ford and UPS, to a greater focus on growing tech talent, Mayor Greg Fischer today outlined the city’s many achievements in 2019 and looked ahead to progress and momentum continuing into 2020.

Dec 20 2019 Air Pollution Control District Proposed Permit

The Louisville Metro Air Pollution Control District (District) proposes to renew a FEDOOP operating permit to Brenntag Mid-South, Inc. (chemical distribution facility), 3900 Tucker Avenue, Louisville, KY 40216 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This permit is being issued to renew the operating permit. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 21, 2019, and ends on January 23, 2020. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 19 2019 Mayor appoints Tameka Laird as Director of the Louisville Metro Office of Resilience & Community Services

Mayor Greg Fischer today announced the appointment of Tameka Laird as Director of the Louisville Metro Office of Resilience & Community Services (RCS), which works to fight poverty and promote compassion, stability and empowerment for residents and communities.

She replaces Eric Friedlander, who led the office for four years before Gov. Andy Beshear named him Acting Secretary of the Kentucky Cabinet for Health & Family Services.

(ships packages worldwide), 911 Grade Lane, Louisville, KY 40213 in accordance with Regulation 2.17. This permit is being issued to renew and reclassify from a Title V to a FEDOOP operating permit. The 30-day public comment period starts on December 19, 2019, and ends on January 20, 2020. A public hearing may be scheduled if the District determines that there are germane, unresolved issues or substantial public interest, in accordance with Regulation 2.07.

Dec 12 2019 Mayor and Council agree on new funding to reverse “no collection-no delay” holiday rules set out during budget discussions

Louisville Metro Government is reversing a policy that had suspended residential garbage, recycling and yard waste collection within the Urban Services District on four holidays, due to citywide budget cuts for 2020 Fiscal Year.

Although the policy was implemented on Labor Day, Mayor Greg Fischer’s administration and Metro Council have worked out an agreement to split the estimated $70,000 for services on the other three holidays, beginning with New Year’s Day.
